PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — The man accused of a hit-run fatality in Portland pleaded not guilty Monday to a manslaughter charge.

Police say a van driven by 37-year-old Aaron Miles Arrell struck and killed 47-year-old Lori Noel Kerr on March 16. Investigators say he left the scene then asked a friend to report his van had been stolen.

The Oregonian reports Arrell has a history of traffic convictions, including driving under the influence of intoxicants.
