CORBETT, Ore. (AP) — Human remains found by a hiker near Corbett, Ore., in the Columbia Gorge area have been identified as a 57-year-old man who had been missing for years.

The Multnomah County medical examiner’s office says someone found Stanley Brown’s remains at a campsite in a wooded area near Interstate 84. It’s not clear how Brown died but his death is not being investigated as a homicide.

KPTV reports that officers say Brown had not been seen since he failed to appear for a parole hearing more than five years ago. Investigators identified the remains with the aid of dental records.
