SANYA, China (AP) — Two-time Olympic champion Misty May-Treanor was injured during an international tournament in China on Saturday, forcing her and teammate Kerri Walsh to withdraw.

Walsh told Xinhua News that May-Treanor injured her left knee. It was not immediately known how serious the injury was.

May-Treanor tore her left Achilles’ tendon while rehearsing for “Dancing with the Stars” after the Beijing Olympics in 2008.

May-Treanor and Walsh defaulted from their semifinal match against China’s Chen Xue and Xi Zhang and forfeited the bronze medal match against Brazil’s Maria Antonelli and Talita Antunes.
