Canada beats Switzerland 4-3 in overtime at worlds

KOSICE, Slovakia (AP) — Alex Pietrangelo scored at 4:14 of overtime to give Canada a 4-3 win over Switzerland on Tuesday to complete the group stage of the ice hockey world championship with a perfect record.

Pietrangelo beat goalie Leonardo Genoni with a wrist shot to give Canada its third win in three matches.

Chris Stewart, who also plays for the St. Louis Blues with Pietrangelo, made it 3-2 with 3:14 remaining in the third period, but Andres Ambuhl tied it with 1:22 left to force overtime.

John Tavares of the New York Islanders and Jordan Eberle of the Edmonton Oilers also scored for Canada. Travis Zajac of the New Jersey Devils added two assists.

In Bratislava, Germany had to rally from a two-goal deficit to beat Slovenia 3-2 after a penalty shootout.
