KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. (AP) — A report from the American Lung Association rates the air in Klamath County as some of the dirtiest in Oregon.

The Herald and News in Klamath Falls says the county got an “F” grade for particle pollution in the association’s annual State of the Air report.

Lake, Jackson and Lane counties also received “F” grades for particulate matter. Lane County had the most unhealthy air days, followed by Klamath County.

It was the second straight year that Klamath County got an “F” for its air quality because of fine particulate pollution.

Marilyn Sutherland is the director of the Klamath County Public Health Department. She says local officials monitor air quality daily and are quick to notify residents when fine particulate matter could pose a health risk.
