CHILOQUIN, Ore. (AP) — Surveillance cameras have been installed in downtown Chiloquin in southern Oregon in hopes of reducing vandalism to vehicles, buildings and residences.

The Herald and News in Klamath Falls reports the cameras were put in undisclosed locations and are monitored by the Klamath County Sheriff’s Office. Cost of the system was about $12,000.

Chiloquin Mayor Mark Cobb said the city of 750 has had a serious vandalism issue for the past five years.
