BEND, Ore. (AP) — A couple from Bend who went for a drive on a Forest Service road became stuck in the snow and had to be rescued.

The Deschutes County sheriff’s office says dispatchers received a call about 8 p.m. Tuesday from the couple who said they had been trying to free their vehicle for six hours on the road west of Bend.

County search and rescue personnel and a Forest Service officer found them unharmed about 10 p.m. and escorted them back to Bend.
