PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — A train carrying lumber has derailed and struck several tanker cars carrying a flammable liquid, causing a massive fire on a highway northwest of Portland.

Portland fire department spokeswoman Alisa Cour says Wednesday that the derailment forced the evacuation of a half-mile area around the fire.

No injuries were reported.

Firefighters have been pulled away from the blaze, but fire trucks are spraying the fire from across the highway.

The Oregon Department of Transportation warns that state Highway 30 is a busy thoroughfare that will likely be backed up with afternoon traffic.
