GENEVA (AP) — A Swiss adventurer hopes to fulfill a dream by flying through the Grand Canyon with his jet-propelled wingsuit.

Former fighter pilot Yves Rossy will attempt the stunt early Friday.

His team said Wednesday that the 51-year-old daredevil will jump from a helicopter near Eagle Point and fly westward along the rim of the canyon.

Rossy has previously flown his custom-made wingsuit over the Swiss Alps and across the English Channel.

He also tried but failed to cross the Strait of Gibraltar from Morocco to Spain.
