PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Police arrested a transient suspected of breaking into a home in Portland and sexually assaulting a woman.

The 48-year-old woman told police she awoke Wednesday morning to find a stranger in her house. After the assault she went to a friend’s home to call 911.

Portland police said evidence led them to an area of Milwaukie where they found the 29-year-old transient. He’s held in the Multnomah County Jail on burglary and rape charges.
