HOOD RIVER, Ore. (AP) — A Washington state man has been sentenced to life in prison for the murder of an Oregon motel owner in the Columbia River Gorge in 2009.

The Oregon Attorney General’s office said Wednesday that 24-year-old Jairo Andres Vicente of White Salmon, Wash., pleaded guilty to aggravated murder and armed robbery in the September 2009 shooting death of 54-year old Jerry Cranmer at the Vagabond Lodge in Hood River.

Cranmer’s body was discovered by his 16-year-old son in the motel office.

Two women who were co-defendants each pleaded guilty to robbery and were each sentenced to more than seven years in prison.
