o For the Birds: 1 p.m. May 7. Join Dale “The Birdman” Combs for this class on hummingbirds. Discussion will include feeding, housing and locations. Seating limited. Registration required.

o Kid’s Club: Start a Vegetable Garden: 11 a.m. May 14. Join us for a garden party where the kids will plant vegetables and flowers; there will be seeds and plants for everyone to take home. Registration required, $5.

Hulda Klager Lilac Gardens Lilac Days: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. through May 8 at 115 S. Pekin Road, Woodland. Tour four acres of lilacs, perennial borders and trees in the historic garden. Master Gardener Foundation Plant Sale: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 7, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 8, WSU Agricultural Research and Extension Unit, 1919 N.E. 78th St. Shop for flowering Mother’s Day gifts, vegetables, berries, annuals, perennials, shrubs and houseplants. Mother’s Day Plant & Garden Fair: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 7 at Camas High School, 26900 S.E. 15th St., Camas. Plants and garden accessories for sale and kids’ activities. Woodland Historical Museum Plant and Yard Sale: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 6-7, 1879 Insel Road, Woodland, side yard along Lewis River Road. Proceeds will support the museum.

Eureka Tomatoes: 7 to 8:30 p.m. May 12 at La Center Grange, 328 W. Fifth St., La Center. Learn how to grow tomatoes. $10 per person includes a free tomato plant of your choice. 360-254-0793.

American Rhododendron Society Plant Sale: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 14, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 15, Heathman Lodge, 7801 N.E. Greenwood Drive, Vancouver. Features unusual and rare rhododendrons and companion plants. 360-256-2522.

Woodland Community Garden: The city of Woodland is accepting rental applications for community garden plots for the 2011 planting season. The garden is located at the corner of Glenwood and Columbia streets. Gardeners will be provided a key for access to water. Copies of the rental agreement and rules and regulations can be obtained through the Clerk-Treasurer’s office, 230 Davidson Ave., or at http://www.ci.woodland.wa.us.

Camas Washougal Community Garden Club Plant Sale: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 14 at the Scount Hall in Crown Park, Northeast 15th Avenue and Everett Street in Camas. Shop for plants, shrubs, trees and assorted garden items. Funds raised will support the club’s civic activities and training. 360-210-8012.
