NEW YORK (AP) — The New York Mets have placed right-hander Chris Young on the disabled list with shoulder tightness and brought up Pat Misch from Triple-A Buffalo.
The Mets announced the moves before Sunday’s series finale against the Dodgers.
Young was scheduled to start Saturday night but had trouble warming up. Dillon Gee started in his place and limited the Dodgers to two runs in 5 1-3 innings in a game New York won 4-2.
Young had an MRI exam on his shoulder Sunday and the team put him on the DL.
The team also transferred Johan Santana to the 60-day disabled list. Santana had surgery last September to repair a torn anterior capsule in his left shoulder. He’s expected to begin throwing off a mound soon but won’t be back until at least July.
