CLAYTON, Wash. (AP) — Dozens of pigs and chickens have been killed in a barn fire at Clayton, which is about 30 miles northwest of Spokane in Stevens County.

A neighbor reported the flames about 2:30 a.m. Friday from over a mile away.

KREM reports investigators believe the fire may have started from a heat lamp.

The fire killed a flock of chickens, eight pigs and 42 piglets.
