Talking Points: Forgetful driver

What’s the buzz from the world of sports? Here are some items that will have people talking:

1

A report says Hines Ward of the Pittsburgh Steelers was detained at gunpoint and handcuffed by police, yet the whole thing was a mix-up.

Ward was let go, and the police apologized to him.

Ward might want to get an apology from the owner of the car, who happened to be in the car, too.

She had reported the vehicle stolen some weeks back. It wasn’t stolen, though. She just forgot where she parked it. She found the car and forgot to tell the police, so the stolen vehicle report was still active.

That’s two big forgetful moments for the lady, two forgetful moments that led to her friend having a gun pointed at him by the police.

Maybe Hines Ward should play a little Cee Lo Green in the car’s CD.

“Forget you, and forget you, too!”

Location, location, location.

Wrestling fans who happened to be in New York’s Times Square on Thursday got quite a treat.

We’re talking real wrestling fans, not fake wrestling fans. And by fake, we mean fake wrestling, not fake fans. Fake wrestling is masks and costumes and flying chairs. Real wrestling is boring.

(We kid, we kid.)

But it’s not boring when it’s in Times Square.

Russia and the United States held a freestyle dual in the middle of New York’s playground. Pretty cool, huh?

Perhaps next January, the Clark County wrestling championships can be held at Esther Short Park.

Maybe get the best of Oregon vs. the best of Washington and put the mat on the I-5 bridge. Instead of charging fans for tickets, we’ll just charge a toll.
