OLBIA, Italy (AP) — Seven-time defending world champion Sebastien Loeb has maintained his lead after the second day of the Sardinia Rally.

The Frenchman holds a 28.3-second advantage over Finland’s Mikko Hirvonen, with countryman Sebastien Ogier 34.6 back.

Loeb began the day with a 33.2-second lead on Petter Solberg, who now sits fourth, 39.5 behind.

Loeb is eyeing his fourth title in this race, which concludes Sunday, saying “28 seconds should be enough but it’s still a difficult day tomorrow.”
