BAGHDAD (AP) — Iraqi army and health officials say at least five people have been killed in what appeared to be a coordinated attack on a currency exchange office in a city north of Baghdad.
An Iraqi army official says gunmen exploded a bomb Saturday afternoon next to a police patrol located near a currency exchange office in central Baqouba, 35 miles (60 kilometers) northeast of Baghdad.
The official says the men then attacked the exchange office using guns with silencers.
There was no information about how many died each incident. Five died in both the bombing and shooting. Eight people were also wounded.
An official at the Diyala health directorate confirmed the casualties. All officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not allowed to speak to the media.
