VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) — More than 40 years after Richard Daniels died in Vietnam, the Washougal sailor’s name is being added to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C.

The Columbian newspaper reports the 23-year-old sailor died in 1971 while aboard a U.S. Navy vessel at Dong Tam, in what was then South Vietnam.

Richard Daniels’ name is one of five that will be added to the memorial wall this weekend.
