Ore. man found after reporting self lost in gorge

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — A 26-year-old Oregon man was found by search teams in the Columbia River Gorge after reporting himself lost on a weekend hike.

The Oregonian reports that Ben Sample of Portland was found by a Multnomah County sheriff’s office search-and-rescue team about 6:30 a.m. Sunday after calling for help Saturday afternoon.

The search team was assisted by aircraft.
