Published: May 9, 2011, 5:00pm

Volunteers are being recruited to help spruce up the large planters and flower beds in and around Propstra Square.

The planting will start at 9 a.m. Saturday at Esther Short Park, 301 W. Eighth St., and is expected to be done by 11 a.m.

The planting is being organized by the Parks Foundation of Clark County. The event’s sponsor, Hilton Vancouver Washington, will provide refreshments.

Volunteers must register through the Parks Foundation office by Thursday, arrive no later than 8:45 a.m. Saturday to sign a volunteer form and bring a small gardening trowel.

To register, call 360-487-8370 or email cheri.martin@parksfoundation.us.

Flowers and plants were purchased using proceeds from Parks Foundation Propstra Square Memorial Brick sales.
