SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — Home sales in Washington dropped in the first three months of this year, compared to a year ago when federal tax incentives were still in place.
The Washington Center for Real Estate Research at Washington State University also reported that median home prices, which had been stable for a year, experienced a decline.
Statewide home sales dropped 4.6 below that of a year ago. The median sales price during the first quarter was $228,200, 7.2 percent below the year ago median. This is the most significant median price drop since an 8.5 percent fall in the fourth quarter of 2009.
