Letter: Learn from sad legacy of internment

Clint McCourtney’s May 7 letter, “Varying degrees of internment existed,” left the impression that the internment was for the safety of the Japanese. I cannot leave it at that.
Executive Order 9066 required that all persons of Japanese ancestry report “for processing.” They were allowed to take two suitcases.
