SALEM, Ore. (AP) — The state Fish and Wildlife Department says Thursday, Friday and Saturday could be three of the biggest fishing days this year as the all-depth halibut fishing season opens on the central Oregon coast.

Hundreds of boats are expected to fish deep for Pacific halibut — 600 feet or more.

Anglers should check the department’s website for all the rules and regulations.
