SALEM, Ore. (AP) — Oregon lawmakers will get the latest picture of the state’s finances as they work to finalize a budget.
State economists are scheduled to release their latest projections for state revenue on Thursday morning.
The projection will determine how much money lawmakers have to spend in their budget for the next two years. A sunny forecast would mean smaller cuts from services for seniors and people with long-term disabilities. But a gloomier-than-expected forecast might mean even deeper slashing on the programs that are already facing massive deficits.
