FIUGGI, Italy (AP) — Francisco Ventoso beat out Alessandro Petacchi in a sprint finish to win the sixth stage of the Giro d’Italia on Thursday.
The Spaniard led home a mass sprint to win the 216-kilometer (134-mile) stage from Orvieto to Fiuggi in 5 hours, 15 minutes, 39 seconds.
Roberto Ferrari of Androni was third with the same time.
