NEWPORT, Ore. (AP) — Oregon State Police say an Idaho father and son have been rescued from the Pacific Ocean off Newport, Ore., after their 18-foot fiberglass boat capsized in rough seas as they retrieved a crab pot. Senior Trooper Heather Van Meter says Coast Guard personnel saw the Friday afternoon accident from an observation tower and sent out two rescue boats.

The men were wearing life jackets and were in the water about 15 minutes before they were rescued.

Police say 37-year-old Tim Justice of Boise and 62-year-old Gary Justice of Emmett, Idaho, were taken to a Newport-area hospital for treatment of hypothermia and minor injuries.

The accident happened about a half mile offshore.
