MEDICAL LAKE, Wash. (AP) — A Spokane County sheriff’s deputy arrested a Medical Lake High School student accused of making racially motivated threats to a black student.

Deputy Brian Lawler said he was called Thursday by the vice principal who asked for help in expelling the suspect from school property.

The victim and witnesses say a 17-year-old repeatedly used racial slurs and showed the victim a picture portraying a Ku Klux Klansman hanging President Obama.

The 17-year-old was booked into the Spokane County Juvenile Detention Center for investigation of felony malicious harassment.
