SEATTLE (AP) — Government and transit officials are holding a ceremony at 10 a.m. Monday at Husky Stadium to kick off another link in the Sound Transit light-rail system.

Boring work is beginning on a $2 billion, three-mile tunnel to connect the university with the Capitol Hill neighborhood and the downtown Westlake Center.

Boring machines will tunnel at two other locations, and officials expect the link to open by September 2016.
