o Bonsai Group: 1 p.m. May 21. Learn tips and techniques from experienced bonsai enthusiasts.

o Bringing Life to Your Soil: 11 a.m. May 28. Learn how to develop rich and fertile soil to insure the success of all types of plantings. Making compost will be discussed.

o When a Fish Becomes a Pet Named Lucky: 11 a.m. June 4. Let Doug, our certified pond specialist, de-mystify filtration systems and what it takes to make your own pets happy and healthy in their ponds.

Woodland Community Garden: The city of Woodland is accepting rental applications for community garden plots for the 2011 planting season. The garden is located at the corner of Glenwood and Columbia streets. Gardeners will be provided a key for access to water. Copies of the rental agreement and rules and regulations can be obtained through the Clerk-Treasurer’s office, 230 Davidson Ave., Woodland, or at http://www.ci.woodland.wa.us.

Pomeroy Living History Farm Herb and Garden Festival: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 21 and 1 to 5 p.m. May 22 at 20902 N.E. Lucia Falls Road, Yacolt. Herb and garden plants will be for sale at the festival, as well as vendors, entertainment and food for sale. Funds raised support educational programs. Admission and parking are free but donations will be accepted. 360-686-3537.
