NEW YORK (AP) — The New York Rangers have reached an agreement with forward Christian Thomas.

Thomas is first in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) with 95 goals over the past two seasons. He is the first Rangers prospect to score 50 goals in an OHL regular season since Ryan Callahan.

Thomas is the son of longtime NHL player Steve Thomas. Steve Thomas had 421 goals and 933 points in more than 1,200 career NHL games.

The 18-year-old was the Rangers’ second-round choice, 40th overall, in the 2010 draft.
