Armed Forces Day celebration Saturday at JBLM

JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, Wash. (AP) — Joint Base Lewis-McChord opens its gates to the general public Saturday (at 10 a.m.) for an Armed Forces Day celebration.

Events include a 5K ‘mud run’ obstacle course race and displays of military vehicles and equipment, along with music and craft and food vendors.

At a 3 p.m. “massing of the colors” ceremony at Memorial Stadium, military color guards will be joined by Scouts, veterans groups and color guards from other organizations in honoring the American flag.
