ASHLAND, Ore. (AP) — A Jackson County jury has deadlocked 6 to 6 in the case of an Ashland man accused of sex abuse of a 10-year-old girl.

A prosecutor says 38-year-old Sunshine Sweetwater Bucy, a community theater actor, will be retried. The Medford Mail Tribune reports that a pretrial court date has been scheduled for June.

The girl testified that Bucy kissed her on the lips, nuzzled her neck, touched her upper thigh and tried to unzip her sweatshirt during a party at his apartment complex last year.

He denied the charges.

Jury members told the judge Friday they couldn’t agree on a verdict.
