GRANDVIEW, Wash. (AP) — The Washington State Patrol says a 2-year-old Yakima County girl has died after being struck by an SUV driven by her father.

The patrol says 26-year-old Ulises Miron-Gomez was unaware that his daughter was behind the SUV when he backed his Chevrolet Tahoe out of a driveway.

Yakima County Coroner Jack Hawkins told the Yakima Herald-Republic that Devinee Miron-Cardenas died from head injuries.

The accident happened at 11:40 a.m. Saturday. The patrol says neither drugs nor alcohol were involved.
