SEATTLE (AP) — Sound Transit says a female pedestrian has died after being struck by a Link light rail train early Sunday.

Spokesman Bruce Gray says the woman was walking down the tracks around 12:50 a.m. in south Seattle when she was hit. She was taken to Harborview Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.

Gray says initial reports show the train operator repeatedly sounded a warning horn and applied the brakes.

Seattle Police are investigating.
