SUNNYSIDE, Wash. (AP) — Police in Sunnyside, Wash., say a shooting that killed a 17-year-old boy was gang-motivated although they don’t believe the victim was involved with gangs.

Police spokeswoman Charlotte Hinderlider says Alfredo Arredondo was killed late Friday night while a 16-year-old boy in a car with Arredondo suffered a hand wound.

Shots were fired from a red sedan that pulled up to a second vehicle at an intersection. The red car fled.

Police are offering a reward of as much as $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.
