ISLAMABAD (AP) — Police say the death toll in a suicide car bombing in northwest Pakistan has risen to 24.

Thursday’s explosion struck near government offices in the Hangu area, a rough area located just outside Pakistan’s lawless tribal regions bordering Afghanistan.

It is the latest in a wave of attacks in Pakistan since the May 2 U.S. raid that killed Osama bin Laden.

No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack. But the Pakistani Taliban have claimed other recent strikes, saying they are avenging the al-Qaida leader’s death.
