EL RENO, Ark. (AP) — An emergency official says a tornado has killed two people in suburban Oklahoma City as a line of severe thunderstorms moved across the state during the evening rush hour.

Jerry Smith, the Emergency Management director for Canadian County, said he had no other details about the deaths Tuesday afternoon.

A tornado that was on the ground for 50 or more miles swept through the towns of El Reno and Piedmont in the western and northern Oklahoma City suburbs.
