Weather: 100 percent chance of rain today

Hopefully you soaked up Monday and Tuesday’s sunshine. It’s going into hiding for a bit.

Rain is prominent in the National Weather Service’s five-day forecast, especially today, when the chance of precipitation is a tidy 100 percent.

Timbers fans should worry not because the rain should be lighter this evening.

The rain today, however, could push the Columbia River into flood stage, which is 16 feet above sea level. This morning, the river stands at 15.8 feet. A slight climb into the flood stage will causing flooding in low-lying areas but is not expected to result in major damage.
