PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Portland police say they’re trying to find medical and social services for a homeless, disabled man known as “One-legged Scottie” who has been arrested 30 times in the past three years for drinking in public and related violations.

KGW reports Scott Hamilton admits he’s a drunk.

He’s not angry at being arrested but he is angry his wheelchair was confiscated after a Sunday night arrest and he had to crawl out of the Multnomah County Jail when he was released.

Police arrested Hamilton again Wednesday for drinking in public and gave him back his wheelchair.

The Oregonian reports the 37-year-old says he’s a veteran who served in the Navy in Iraq. Police spokesman Pete Simpson says they hope to connect him with some services.
