BURNS, Ore. (AP) — A Wyoming man is facing charges after a traffic stop near Burns in Eastern Oregon resulted in the seizure of 95 pounds of marijuana.

Oregon State Police said Thursday the marijuana was found in duffle bags and the nose of a kayak after a rented sport utility vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation on Highway 120 east of Burns.

A Harney County sheriff’s office drug detection dog assisted in the seizure on Tuesday. The value was estimated at about $380,000.

Troopers said 30-year-old Kevin Hartka of Wilson, Wyo., was charged with unlawful delivery, possession and manufacture of marijuana. He was being held at the Harney County jail.

Deputies said Hartka requested a court-appointed attorney on Thursday.
