PRINEVILLE, Ore. (AP) — The success of the Facebook data center in Prineville has led city officials to talks with other companies they hope will bring more data technology centers to central Oregon.

Prineville City Manager Steve Forrester told The Bulletin newspaper in Bend that Prineville officials are talking with two other data technology companies — but they won’t release the names until any deals are finalized.

Forrester said talks have progressed far enough that the companies have been given code names: “Project Campbell” and “Cloud.”

Meanwhile, the site manager for the new Facebook data center in Prineville said he has been impressed with the efforts of city and county officials to resolve water, power and land use issues.

Ken Patchett said he has also been impressed by efforts to attract other companies.
