PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — A man has been arrested in an attack last December at an Oregon nightclub where two men were beaten unconscious after racial slurs were shouted at them.

KGW-TV reports that 28-year-old Rickey Lee Watson Jr. was arrested Thursday on charges of assault and intimidation in the Dec. 11 attack.

Police said 21-year-old Mufeed Yacoub and 23-year-old Sherif Youssef were confronted by a man in the bar area.

Yacoub broke away and a minute later, the man followed the pair into a bathroom. Investigators said that, as Yacoub turned toward the man, he made racial slurs, assaulting the pair and knocking them unconscious.

Watson was being held in the Multnomah County jail on $10,000 bail. A police spokesman was not able to immediately provide the name of his defense attorney.
