PASTOR APPRECIATION EVENT: Members of Community A.M.E. Zion Church will host a two-day tribute to the Rev. Joyce M. Smith, senior pastor. The theme of the event is “A Charge to Keep and a God to Glorify.” A luncheon will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 11 at the Hilton Vancouver Washington, 301 W. Earline Garrett of the Doers of the World Ministries International in New York, N.Y., will speak at the 11 a.m. Sunday, June 12, worship service at Community A.M.E. Zion Church, 3605 E. 13th St. The Rev. T. Allen Bethel, pastor of Maranatha Church of God in Portland, will speak at 4 p.m. June 12 at Community A.M.E.
