GREENWATER, Wash. (AP) — Pierce County, Wash., divers and a swiftwater rescue team are searching for a 2-year-old boy swept away in the fast-moving Greenwater River.

Sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer says the child was on a camping trip with his family on Friday. The spokesman says everything possible is being done to locate the child. He tells KIRO-TV, “We’re downstream hoping for a miracle.”

Troyer cautions those planning to spend the Memorial Day holiday in the outdoors to stay away from area rivers, which are all running fast and full.
