INGLEWOOD, Calif. (AP) — Dubawi Heights wore down leader Celtic Princess in the final strides to win the $250,000 Gamely Stakes by a head at Hollywood Park on Monday.
Camp Victory won the $100,000 Los Angeles Handicap via disqualification.
It was the fourth win in a row for Dubawi Heights, who was making her Grade 1 stakes debut. Ridden by Joel Rosario, the 4-year-old Britain-bred filly ran 1 1-8 miles on the turf in 1:47.29 and paid $11.40, $7 and $3.80.
Celtic Princess returned $12 and $5. Cozi Rosie, the 19-10 favorite, was another 134 lengths back in third and paid $3 to show.
The victory increased Dubawi Heights’ career earnings to $655,196.
