INGLEWOOD, Calif. (AP) — French-bred filly Givine rallied from next-to-last at the top of the stretch Sunday for her first U.S. win and first stakes victory in the $94,250 Great Lady M. Stakes, a sprint on the turf at Hollywood Park.

Ridden by Joel Rosario, Givine was fourth in the field of five fillies and mares for most of the race, but charged home to beat Separate Forest by a half-length, covering six furlongs in 1:08.26.

The heavy favorite, Broken Dreams, attempted her own rally and was briefly second at the top of the stretch, but only managed third.

Givine paid $9.60, $3.80 and $2.60. Separate Forest paid $3.60 and $2.20. Broken Dreams returned $2.10 to show.
