BOSTON (AP) — The Chicago White Sox have purchased the contracts of right-handed pitchers Brian Bruney and Jeff Marquez from Triple-A Charlotte Monday and designated infielder Dallas McPherson for assignment.

Bruney, signed by Chicago as a free agent in December, was 1-0 with seven saves and a 1.31 ERA in 19 relief outings for the Knights. Marquez went 3-4 with a 3.97 ERA in nine starts.

Following Sunday’s loss in Toronto, the club had optioned right-hander Lucas Harrell to Charlotte.
