Letter: Taxes must be paid for best services

The Columbian
Published: May 29, 2011, 5:00pm

I’m an eighth-grader from Covington Middle School, and I read that Fire Station 6 was closed down last year because of city funding problems. I think it is more important to get to the people in need during an emergency instead of saving the money because firefighters help our whole society.

In order to re-open Fire Station 6 and rehire the firefighters needed, an increase in the money we pay for taxes could bring back this station to keep all of us safe.
