3 Fort Bragg-based soldiers killed in Afghanistan

FORT BRAGG, N.C. (AP) — Military officials say three Fort Bragg-based soldiers have died from their wounds following an attack in Afghanistan.

The Department of Defense announced Wednesday that 36-year-old Capt. Joseph W. Schultz of Port Angeles, Wash.; 28-year-old Staff Sgt. Martin R. Apolinar of Glendale, Ariz.; and 25-year-old Sgt. Aaron J. Blasjo of Riverside, Calif., died May 29 in Wardak province of wounds suffered when their unit was attacked with an improvised explosive device.

They were assigned to the 3rd Special Forces Group at Fort Bragg.
