ROSEBURG, Ore. (AP) — Searchers are looking for a 71-year-old California man who went missing on a deer hunting trip in the Umpqua National Forest.

The News-Review (http://bit.ly/ubdvaC ) reports Steven Litsey of Paradise, Calif., was last seen Saturday morning when he and a friend split up to look for deer near the Twin Lakes trailhead in the Cascade Range about 55 miles east of Roseburg.

A dozen searchers have been joined by eight search dog teams and a helicopter. Authorities say Litsey was dressed in camouflage and had water, snacks and fire-making materials.

Since he went missing, temperatures in the area have been below freezing overnight.
